Two pink zinnias, basking in the morning sun, stand tall with an aura of dignified importance.

Along my walking path in the backyard garden, I came across two extremely tall zinnias. They edged the walkway, leaning into it so you had to step to the side to avoid disturbing them. I imagined the pair as two old schoolmarms assigned to watch over the path and protect it from the shenanigans of ne’er-do-wells.

This tall acrylic painting of pinks and greens celebrates the strength and beauty of the stately zinnia.
