Sun Glow
Acrylic on Board - 8” x 6”
Sunflowers and irises sat in a vase on my coffee table. One morning, I happened to walk through the living room as the sun beamed through the window, illuminating the bouquet in a most ethereal light. I took a quick shot to save for later. Eventually, I transferred the image to a small board with acrylic paint.
I love the bright yellows that the sun shining through the sunflower’s petals creates, and the haloed effect on the irises and blades is intoxicating.
This small painting is one of my more successful pieces. It is tempting to try to render every tiny detail. Painting only what matters to say more with fewer strokes creates a more relaxing piece.
