Lily’s Woodland Creatures

Acrylic on canvas - 24” x 36”

Sleeping fox in a forest, guarded by flower fairies.

I painted Lily's Woodland Creatures for my granddaughter's woodland-themed nursery. The fairies depicted in this acrylic artwork are copies of Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairies , published in 1923. Lily's mother enjoyed the flower fairies, so I decided to honor Ms Barker and borrow them for this scene. The fox is a favorite of Lily's, as well, and the little family enjoys the outdoors, so a selection of favorites came together to form the painting I call Lily's Woodland Creatures.

The flower fairies selected for this decorative art are:

At left - Lily-of-the-valley Fairy
Top, sitting on a mushroom - Herb Twopence Fairy
At right - White Bindweed Fairy
