Lily’s Woodland
Creatures

Acrylic painting of a sleeping fox in a forest, guarded by flower fairies.

Acrylic on canvas - 24” x 36”

I painted Lily's Woodland Creatures for my granddaughter's woodland-themed nursery. The fairies depicted in this acrylic artwork are copies of Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairies, published in 1923. Lily's mother enjoyed the flower fairies as a child, so I decided to honor Ms Barker and borrow them for this nursery wall hanging. The fox is a favorite of Lily's, as well, and the young family enjoys the outdoors, so a selection of favorites came together to form the painting I call “Lily's Woodland Creatures.”

The flower fairies selected for this decorative art are:

At left - Lily-of-the-Valley Fairy
Top, sitting on a mushroom - Herb Twopence Fairy
At right sitting on the fox - White Bindweed Fairy
